Practice Plan - “5 More Essential Dribbling Drills”:
Players in 2nd grade and under should practice any of these dribbling skills for at least 15 minutes, and players in 3rd grade and up should practice these dribbling skills for at least 25 minutes. If you do not have cones, hats, gloves, old towels/shirts, bags, shoes, etc. make great substitutes.
As the health and safety of our players and their families is our utmost concern, Stamford FC/Stamford Youth Soccer League continues to suspend all soccer related activities indefinitely due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19. Earlier today, The City of Stamford Recreation Department issued the following announcement:
The safety of Stamford Recreation Services staff, volunteers, guests and community is a top priority and Stamford Recreation Services is taking appropriate action to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Following directives from CT Governor Ned Lamont, the CT Department of Public Health, Mayor David Martin and the CDC to limit public gatherings, Stamford Recreation is closing several indoor public facilities, and all Stamford permitted/sanctioned sports leagues including Stamford Rec leagues from March 17 for 30 days. At the end of the 30 days this directive will be reevaluated.
At this time, we do not know whether we will be able to safely hold our spring soccer season. However, we will continue to monitor the response to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and the recommendations of our local, state and Federal government officials and we will pass along any new information as expeditiously as possible.
Effective Friday, March 13, 2020, Connecticut Junior Soccer Association is suspending all affiliated and sanctioned soccer activities statewide through April 15th due to the evolving COVID-19 situation. For our member organizations (towns, clubs and leagues) this includes, but is not limited to: all games, practices, clinics, training, ODP, tournaments, in-person meetings and Coaching Education Courses.
